There is just something different about that “last” baby. They seemed to be babyed longer, snuggled just a little harder, given just a tad bit more patience and seen through different eyes. I think it’s because after having your first, or more than one, baby, most of us are in “survival mode”. Where it is stressful and new and goes by wayyyy fast. When that “last” baby comes around though, you already know those things like that babies don’t break quite as easily. But most importantly, you know just how much a thief time is and that sometimes its okay to snuggle them just a little longer, or sniff the top of their heads as a newborn because sadly, the smell fades.

I think that is the biggest appeal for me as a newborn and baby photographer. I have the experience as a momma that my baby’s sweet smell fades just a little. And they only have one first smile, first birthday, and first photoshoot. I always strive to beautifully photograph those moments that are fleeting yet beyond beautiful.

Contact me to set up your newborn or baby photoshoot because I would adore to have the privilege!!

Mothers and their children share an unspoken bond! That feeling of support, comfort, and unconditional love just can’t be replaced! As a mother of two myself, I understand that precious bond! I also understand how quickly they grow and gain independence, it sometimes seems like overnight!

We try our best to cherish each little moment and capture as many pictures as we can to hold on to those sweet memories. All too often we as mom’s are behind the camera and not in front of it.

This is why I love offering Mommy and Me sessions. So my clients can share an amazing experience with their children, while I capture the moment with beautiful heirloom quality photos to be treasured forever! Capturing that love between a mother and child is the perfect way to remind you both just how special you are!

Look at this beautiful baby girl I had in the studio for a newborn session this week! She was so darling, and this sweet family was so much fun to work with!

I always like to prepare my families before each newborn sessions by sending them a preparation guide. It includes tips to ensure the best experience possible! Some of my suggestions include bringing a pacifier, even if the baby isn’t currently taking one. This is a great way to soothe the baby while we are getting them into different poses. I also advise parents to feed the baby right before they arrive for their session and try to keep the baby awake as much as possible the morning of. Having a sleepy, full baby makes the shoot go so smooth and allows us to get those perfect sleepy baby images like you can see below!

This family did a great job preparing for the session and you can tell it paid off with some adorable pictures they can cherish forever!
